The best book-to-film adaptations (according to me)
One of the most successful and known book to ever become a movie is of course the trilogy of “The Godfather” by Mario Puzo. It follows the journey of the sicilian Corelone family throughout 2 generations. Don Vito Corleone coming to America and Michael, without a choice, taking part in the family’s business. From my perspective, it can be seen as the dehumanization of the individual and the loss of family. Al Pacino is one of my favourite actors and of course, I have to say that this used to be one of my favourite movies growing up. These movies are worth watching and the book is a must if you’ve loved watching the movies.

“Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austen is also one of my all favourite time movies, I really don’t know why I haven’t watched it earlier, but still, I am grateful I did. This is a love story like no other, and also, the portrayal of Elizabeth Bennett as a powerful woman in the hierarchies of the 19th century is amazing. I really loved how the love story unfolded and how each character has their uniqueness. It treats themes such as reputation, the middle-class and the upper-class and how their worlds are different.
This book is one of the best pieces of literature one can read, but even if you decide not to do so, the movie is a must watch for sure.

Need I say more? These books and the movies have been a big part of my childhood and I know for sure that it has been a big part of other people’s lives as well. For me, it still is. I get excited whenever I find bits of news in this regard and I will always be happy to watch the movies, just as I would see them for the very first time. These books have created a magical space for us, and the way the story is portrayed and how valuable the characters friendship is, it really makes you wish that you were a part of it all. I will always cherish these books and movies, because they have made me truly happy.
I cannot do this enough justice, but if you wish to be a part of this magical universe, I deeply encourage you to read the books.
