Curiosity and history in Hunedoara
Since I was in middle school I always liked to know more about the past, the people beforeus, the myths, the animals. In high school my interest grew even more because of the teacher I had at that time. Her way to explain about the history of humanity, of the countries atracted my attention. Later I liked to learn and study about this subject.
Three years ago me and my friends planned to go to a short trip for a few days to the mountains. In the way we stopped to make some pictures in Hunedoara and there we decided to stay a little longer. I can’t say we visited many places because we didn’t have enough time, but we could visit one of the most beautiful places there: Corvin’s Castle.

The Corvin’s Castle were one of the most splendid historical building I ever seen. In my life I didn’t have the chance to visit many places, at first I didn’t have the interest but I was so wrong. Romania has so much history, the present from now is due to the past that not many people know about. The Castle was in way not too worn out. It was kept safe. When I was there I could feel I bit of fear and excitement on the hall.
We started to explore the castle inch by inch. The size of this place was huge, we didn’t know where to go, so by mistake we started to saw the hall, the walls, the armour, the balcony.
This place represent the the pride of Transilvania. Till this century Corvin’s Castle is a historical monument for our culture. It is full of events, how the important personalities walked through the halls. To be honest in some rooms of this location provoked me some strage feelings, I had a strage feeling of dejavu. Some of my friends told me in on of the chambers the slaves were tortured. I was amazed and terified by the torture of that time.
The surroundings of this place were amazing. I am sure that in the past when the king Matia Corvin.lived, the view was more beautiful then now. But I am grateful that because of the battkes, of the struggles the country is what is now because of the efforts of everyone.
I can not say I agree with violence and torture or the way things were before. What I learnt from my studies till now is that history makes the future. We can take the examples of the kings, of the influences they had and make things better now for our future generation. The situation of COVID-19 is not a good one, but from situation like this we can always learn, like the history. History in present is science that inform the people about the doings, the mistake our ancestors did.
