Project One is a new supercar from Mercedes-Benz, based around the AMG E-Cell battery technology.
The project is being run by Dr Ulrich Baretzky, who has been working on electric vehicles since 2010 when he was at Audi. He will be responsible for the powertrain design of Project One, along with many parts of its development including platform, suspension and aerodynamics.

Inspired by F1
The Project One is inspired by the F1. It is a hybrid sports car that was created to be as close to Formula 1 racing cars as possible, but with one important difference: it has an engine that’s not made out of plastic.
The heart of this performance machine is its twin-turbocharged 6.3-liter V12 engine which produces 1,500 horsepower and 1,000 lb-ft (1,873 Nm) of torque—that’s almost 2x more power than Ferrari’s LaFerrari! The vehicle also comes with an active aerodynamics kit developed in collaboration with Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains (MHP). This system uses variable rear wing angle settings to manage airflow through the vehicle during acceleration or braking sequences so you can get maximum performance from every turn without sacrificing comfort or safety features like seat belts or airbags.

A mixture of F1 and road-legal tech
The car is made of carbon fiber, and it uses active aerodynamics to reduce its weight. It’s powered by a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that can shift up to 100 mph, and its front wheels are driven by an electric motor.
The interior features a F1-style steering wheel, which is also used for controlling the car’s suspension settings.
0-186 mph in less than 13 secs
The new AMG Project ONE has a top speed of 217 mph and will accelerate from 0-186 mph in less than 13 seconds.
The car’s direct powertrain design allows it to use fewer parts, reducing weight and improving efficiency.
With its active aerodynamics system (including active rear wing), the car can generate downforce similar to an F1 car at speeds up to 186 mph.
Conclusion
The Project One is a very well-rounded hypercar that’s built with the track in mind but made street legal. The first of its kind, it’s a one-off vehicle built by Mercedes-AMG and designed to be used on race tracks like Formula 1 or Nürburgring.
The car comes equipped with 434 horsepower and 432 pound-feet of torque from an AMG V12 engine that can rev up to 11,000 rpm—that’s over 500 more than what you’d find in your average Corvette Z06!
