The happiness of others or your happiness. What do you choose?
Many times I realize that I am doing a lot of things to make the people around me happy, but too few things to contribute to my happiness. I sit and think about why I do this, and often I come to the same answer. Seeing people happy makes me happy. Being able to contribute to the happiness of others makes me happy. I’m glad to help, I’m glad to see happy people!
Then a ‘but’ appears: But, is that enough to make me truly happy?
Yes, it makes me feel good! It gives me a good mood, it really turns on my ‘happy mood’, maybe that’s my purpose on the one hand. But I ask myself: Do these things really bring me happiness? Is that what I live for? Do I live only to make others happy? Is it okay to do that?
I often realize that in this life you live only for yourself. You are working for/on yourself, develop for yourself, and that means you have to make yourself happy! It is at this time of year when I realize that I am not complete. I feel like I am not working hard enough for my own joy. Maybe I’m focusing too much on other people than I am focusing on my own person.
We all often seek happiness in other people.
Maybe we choose a person to make us happy, we rely on that and we put our hopes in that person or people. I think it’s one of the biggest mistakes of the century, along with the most common disease of the century, depression. We need to refresh ourselves and realize that happiness lies in us, and only in us. We are the only ones responsible for our moods, how we treat our emotions, feelings, situations and the importance we give to each thing. It depends on us. Let’s look for what it means to us, what brings us happiness and do more of that.

On the other hand, I think we have to be careful not to go to the other extreme. Let’s not be selfish and not become robots obsessed with seeking happiness& joy and doing whatever it takes just to be happy. Let’s be human and empathetic and not get caught up in the happiness of others to meet our own needs. It’s not just about pursuing your ultimate goal, let’s not desperately seek our happiness and don’t step on corpses to get what we want. Let’s not forget that happiness can be temporary for you, but it can leave a “mark” on others.
In conclusion, I believe that there must be a balance between the happiness of others and our own happiness. Let’s do more things that we feel fulfill and enjoy, but when they involve other people, let’s think about them.
